Daytona Beach Eats
1. Mike’s Galley
Mike’s Galley, a small mom and pop-style diner just a few minutes from The Shores Resort. If there were no reviews on Tripadvisor, I don’t think anyone could find it, but I am glad we did.
The food is great. Giant cinnamon rolls along with the best southern biscuits and gravy, hash brown casserole, and crab eggs benedict.
And when all’s said and done, and your tummies are full, head across the street to the beach and enjoy the rest of your day without a care in the world.
#2. The ROOF
Head to The ROOF for a great sandwich and side, and find American fare in the heart of Florida’s delectable Daytona Beach eats. Beer, wine, cocktails and more are available from the restaurant’s extensive drink list, and the Happy Hour deals are amazing.
If you’re looking for an experience, come around sunset to catch the live music while you enjoy an outstanding view overlooking the city.
#3. Ronin Sushi & Bar
Ronin was able to accommodate us and provide excellent service and fabulous sushi. This is easily one of the best sushi restaurants you’ll visit, as the food, service, and atmosphere are always great! The fried ice cream is absolutely to die for, and you must give it a try.
The menu strikes a balance between creative, adventurous and “sushi comfort food”. Despite the fabulous freshness of the fish and great service, they don’t take themselves too seriously, and the ‘70s disco music that plays in the background is a great touch.
#4. Donnie’s Donuts
Fantastic donuts in an amazing variety, the people here enjoy making them and are coming up with new ones all the time. Coffee is non-GMO and fair-trade organic from Guatemala, available in several delightful special blends.
When it comes to Daytona Beach Eats, Donnie’s Donuts is very good, and the servers are extremely friendly. Non-dairy milk and raw sugars for vegans is also available. They use environmentally friendly packaging, which is always a plus no matter your opinion on environmental issues.
#5. Sloppy Joe’s
The one thing everyone says about Sloppy Joe’s is that the mozzarella sticks are as big as Twinkies. And, for the record, everyone is right. Coming four-to-a-plate alongside sloppy joe nachos and a fantastic selection of bar food, this is a fantastic location right in the heart of Daytona Beach’s Oceanwalk Shops.
Enjoy a late lunch of coconut shrimp or sweet potato tots, and an ice cold drink to take the edge off of a hot afternoon on the beach.
#6. Zen Bistro
Exotic Thai food, located in a quaint, family atmosphere in the heart of Daytona Beach – what more could you ask for? In this restaurant, you will find Thai dishes with that silken texture and a blend of flavors created with balanced seasonings, herbs and spices.
If you want to spice up your day with some amazing Thai cuisine, make Zen Bistro your first choice to eat.
#7. Don Vito’s
Don Vito’s is the classic Italian family restaurant, full of great food, impeccable service, and a “welcome home” atmosphere. With amazingly fresh, made-to-order food, and awesome pizza dough, this is a taste entirely unique to this corner of Daytona Beach.
Enjoy decadently fried ravioli or a take-no-prisoners bruschetta, or just go straight for the main attraction with pizza rolls so good you may never leave Daytona. For a taste explosion, Don Vito’s is not playing games.
#8. Zeno’s Boardwalk Sweet Shop
Zeno’s is a Daytona Beach eats staple, touted by many as a must-stop spot for any trip. Conveniently situated at the very end of the boardwalk, their incredible taffies, candies, sweets, and treats will stay with you long after you’ve washed the sand off your feet.
You’ll see varieties and colors of taffy you never even dreamed off, from German chocolate cake to Key Lime Pie. Get ready to fall in love with Zeno’s Boardwalk Sweet Shop.
#9. Carribean Jack’s Restaurant and Bar
This restaurant is the perfect place to dock your boat while you relax, but if you don’t have a boat no worries. Carribean Jack’s has a beautiful waterfront location with fire, live music, and a festive feel. The service is outstanding and the food is as delicious as it gets. They also have incredibly fresh seafood and the specialty drinks are great.
